Social Style Training Program for Teams

Social Styles Training for Teams – Faster,  Effective, and More Efficient than Seminars

Why have your team travel and sit for a three-day seminar? The Social Style Training Program (SSTP) uses several methods to improve learning and minimize time away from the job.  SSTP includes an introductory kickoff online meeting, 360° online assessment, remote learning,  live or virtual workshop, and 1/1 coaching for each participant. The process has minimal travel and expense and takes the hassle of travel for the participant.

The Social Style Training Program helps managers and leaders increase their interpersonal effectiveness with others. Have only one person? There is another version of this program for just leaders. Here’s how the program works –

Kickoff Meeting

A 1-2 hour online Zoom kickoff meeting will introduce the program to participants.

  • discuss learning objectives
  • explain the steps, structure, and timeline of the program
  • help participants become familiar with Social Styles
  • present expectations of participants
  • introduce the 360° assessment as the next step
  • introduce and establish the credibility of the facilitator of the program (me)
  • answer questions from participants.

Social Style 360° Assessment

  • Participants complete an online multi-rater 360° self-assessment to identify their Social Style and measure their Versatility (how they use their social style and behaviors with others).
  • Participants ask 5-10 peers, colleagues, or subordinates to confidentially and anonymously provide an assessment of the participant’s style, behaviors, and versatility.
  • The leader gets their report at a workshop in about a month.

Online Learning – Introduction to Social Styles

Participants will complete the online learning program Introduction to Social Style. This 3-5 hour self-study program explains the Social Style Model and helps them understand the research and how the model works. Interactive exercises, videos, and discussions help the participant learn and apply its principles.

Live or Online Workshop

The live workshop is ideally held at a conference center away from the office. It can also be done remotely with Zoom. The agenda is customized for the group.  The length of the program will be about 5-6 hours.  The objectives include:

  • Review Social Style concepts with a PowerPoint presentation, discussion, exercises, and Q&A
  • Help participants understand their Style and Versatility in the Social Style Assessment Report
  • Reflection and questions after they receive their report
  • Review the Team Composite report that displays participant’s Social Styles on a grid
  • Explain program follow-up and introduce Social Style Navigator
  • Preview follow-up coaching –  1.5-hour private coaching session scheduled with each participant.

Private Coaching Session

Each participant will meet with an executive coach for a 1.5-hour coaching session. This phone or online session will occur the week following the workshop.

  • discuss the 360° report and debrief the findings.
  • answer questions about the report and recommendations
  • get buy-in from participants
  • create an action plan together to build participant’s strengths and reduce weaknesses
